The term and illness ‘Chronic Fatigue Syndrome’ is commonly discussed when it comes to people experiencing persistent lethargy. Not too long ago there was much discussion on whether or not it was an actual disorder, or more of a somatoform disorder, or even something individuals feign – psychosomatic if you will. The question then is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) a real disorder? CFS is also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and is now the preferred term in the medical profession. The fact is it’s an accepted disease these days as medical science understands there is a group of illnesses that attacks our body systems causing fatigue but without being able to identify the cause or see it running around under a microscope. But for those experiencing ME its real and can make one’s life miserable. But there are options. Read more here…
Read MoreMany people have experienced a not so great childhood, some of those an even downright horrible one. This trouble they experienced in their childhood may have persisted and prevented them from evolving into happy, positive young adults, and they’ve ended-up carrying this burden into their adult lives. The fact is, if you’ve experienced much hurt, abuse or even abandonment, this can create major issues for you until you work on getting them resolved. These issues can lead to insecurities, trust issues, resentment, and even anger or depression. This is what many people accept as their realities and just go on living as a continuation of childhood. But it doesn’t have to stay this way, and should not. You’re not the same person you were as a child. Read more…
Read MoreAre you an individual who tends to ‘overthink’ things a little too much? Do you find you lock onto certain thoughts or things from the past and can’t seem to let them go – your thoughts are like a piece of steak in the mouth of a junkyard dog… and it’s not about to be let go of it no matter how hard you tug? Guess what? You may have what some experts refer to as ‘paralysis by analysis!’ This may sound ridiculous but it’s not for the individual who goes through this, especially in the evening when they’re trying to sleep, and this keeps them up all night tossing and turning – trying to figure things out, or looking for perfect answers. One thing we do know for sure is people who overthink usually are ‘obsessed’ with one word that starts their sentences, which causes them to overthink. Read more here…
Read MoreMost people who get married or are in long-term relationships at some point feel, or acknowledge the spark that was once aflame with passion, which ignited the need for you to be around one another, has burned down to a flicker. In some cases, the spark has just simply extinguished! No one said the ‘spark’ would last forever, and that the wonderful chemistry both of you felt in the beginning would endure at that level for the rest of the relationship. Too many people buy into this ‘magic’ as if it’s a reality of a long-term relationship, rather than realizing anything and everything in life will become ‘commonplace’, habitual and even mundane. That is not necessarily a bad thing when you’re content, and grateful for whom and what you have. Nonetheless there does comes a time when you begin to wonder if you can ever get the spark back and if you can’t then what’s staring at you for the rest of this relationship? Read MoreWhen it comes to phobias, did you know two of the worst fears people have are visiting the dentist and public speaking? Don’t worry, we’re not going to talk about dentists in this article, but we are going to talk about public speaking and performance anxiety which really go hand in hand. In fact, when you ask most people to speak in front of an audience, sing or perform for a crowd, they get stage fright, which often times evolves into performance anxiety. Read MoreHave you ever walked in your sleep, or do you live with or know someone who walks in their sleep? In the movies and television sleep walking is often poked at in a fun and quirky light. It’s even conveyed in horror or mystery movies as a dark and unnatural act being induced by something sinister or controlling. In reality however, sleep walking is serious business and not tied to anything evil or theatrical! Since an individual who is sleep walking is for all intents and purposes ‘asleep’, they don’t know what they’re doing. Add to the fact they’re walking around in the dark with their eyes closed or seemingly open but unaware of surroundings, and this can be a recipe for disaster! It’s easy to get injured, even severely hurt if you continue to sleep walk. Think about how accidents can happen when your eyes are open and you’re wide awake and alert? Well, sleep walking can compound injuries. Discover more here…

Read MoreIt seems like now more than ever before, more kids are being diagnosed or labeled with having mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. It also appears that generalized anxiety disorder is truly becoming more prevalent in younger kids and teenagers. What’s up with all this? Are more kids being born with brain and neurological deficiencies or abnormalities which is leading them to becoming ‘anxious’, or is it more of a sociological phenomenon which is leading to psychological problems? Or is it as some would suggest a change in our diets to include more processed foods? The argument being previous generations didn’t see this volume of issues in their kids and what has changed is our tendency in jam-packed lives to have more meals with more processed foods.
