How to Boost Your Networking Confidence
by Peter Sacco
If you are in business, sales or a part of an organization that places high value on the nature of networking, that is meeting people to promote your business or yourself, then the ability to not only speak but articulate yourself well is perhaps one the most important skills that is required to succeed.
Many people are apprehensive when it comes to speaking in front of others at a professional level, and especially when it comes to promoting themselves.
Drawing attention to oneself at the risk of looking or sounding foolish is most likely the last thing that anyone wants to experience. If networking your business or yourself is new to you, or you have been apprehensive about doing it in the past, perhaps this article is for you.
Most successful businesses rely on creating good contacts. Contacts are people connected within one’s industry which gets the word out there as to why they would work with “X” company. These contacts are created through assertive, sometimes aggressive self-promotion and networking. If you are shy about getting your two cents in, or waiting on the sidelines for someone to approach you about business opportunities or connections, you could be waiting a long time. Here is a resource for networking tips.
Often times, while hoping that someone will come to you first, another person is already chatting their ear off.
It is all in the approach and the delivery.
The approach is based on self-confidence and the belief that you have something positive to say that will attract or sell others. The delivery is actually speaking and making your pitch because you believe in yourself and your ability to influence others or make a connection, and is a topic covered in my online and in-office confidence and self-esteem hypnosis program.
At this moment do you feel that your approach and delivery are lacking?
There are many different types of public speaking groups and courses that one can attend to become a better speaker such as Toast Masters. Sometimes becoming a better speaker is not what is most necessary to make one better at networking. What is required is a belief in one’s abilities as well as faith in themselves.
For all intents and purposes this is truly an inside job. You need to work on your thoughts.
What can you do to improve or change your thought processes quickly that will lead to more effective networking?
The answer is hypnosis!
Under the guidance of a qualified hypnotherapist, you will not only be able to change limiting thoughts and beliefs about yourself involving networking, but you can drastically create a belief system which will lead you toward mastery and self-confidence.
Most people who lack public speaking and networking skills are low in self-confidence.
Furthermore, they don’t have a mindset based on success where they can call upon previous successes through visualization. More importantly, many can’t see the end result of the success they strive for in the future.
Hypnosis is great for creating visualizations and affirmations for what people want to achieve. Through hypnosis, you will not only see yourself as successful at networking, but you will feel the success and this will become so real that whenever you have the chance to network for real, it will feel so easy and second nature.
If you can see it in the mind, your life will take you there and this will hold true for successful networking.
