Strategies to Long-Term Motivation and How Hypnosis Can Help

Long-term handwriting in coffee cup for motivation

In this special Hypnosis Brief I want to discuss long-term motivation, and how hypnosis can help you stay the course to get to your prize. First-off I’m not a motivational speaker but I’ll share what I’ve seen from people I’ve helped achieve a long-term goal and what it took for them and include some current research on the topic as well. Motivation comes from within. You can’t buy it in a bottle, or order it from Amazon, or watch it in a movie. Can you be inspired to get motivated from a book, or a movie, or even a speech? Yes, you can. But it’s short-term, and even then, I’d argue, it still comes from “inside” you. Getting motivated is a conscious decision, but keeping it going is an unconscious decision. To achieve long-term motivation, you need to engage your unconscious mind. This can be done in various ways where the things you do to achieve a short-term goal become habits to help you achieve a long-term goal. Here’s more…

Learning Hypnosis and Becoming a Professional Hypnotist

Posted in
Hypnosis word cloud

In this special Hypnosis Brief I’m going to discuss how to go about learning hypnosis, and becoming a professional hypnotist if you want to make it a career. I’ll also cover some licensing questions to keep you out of trouble. Have you ever wanted to learn hypnosis, or have you wondered where someone goes to learn to do hypnosis? Where do you go to develop the education, skills and talent to pull this off? In the past, it was difficult to find a ‘school’, institution or individual who taught others about hypnosis. In the past most found out where to learn about hypnosis through periodicals like Psychology Today, word of mouth, and some educational institutions. Now that the Internet and all of the variety of ‘search engines’ have come along, it’s much easier to find places to learn about hypnosis, as well as how to perform it. But with this comes some challenges you need to be aware. Read more here…

How to Get a Natural Anti-Aging Attitude to Feel Younger

Posted in
Portrait of a smiling senior woman

There is a term that exists in today’s society referred to as ‘ageism’. Personally, I consider this term condescending in its tone as it refers to older people in a negative, stereotypical manner. It assumes when you reach a certain age you’re ‘past it.’ What does “past it” even mean in today’s society? Past what? Young people picture seniors as needing walking canes, inflexible and bent over, and shuffling along both in the house and outside. The sun has set on them. When people are called weak, feeble, frail, and even useless just because they’re ‘older’, they’re being labeled based on this stereotype. This is both wrong and sad! But what is even sadder is when older people ‘buy” into this stereotype, believing it to be the truth they start behaving and living accordingly. Image is one thing, but attitude is everything. Let’s explore together how to get to the right attitude…

The Pros and Cons of Group Hypnosis Vs Individual Sessions

Girl weighing pros and cons of a decision

In this special hypnosis brief I want to tackle the major differences between Group and Individual Hypnosis Sessions and what you can expect as a client so you can choose what might work best for you. You may find hypnotists who only offer group sessions, and this can be because they’ve decided they want to reach as many people as possible, or they offer online group hypnosis sessions which is an excellent compromise between being part of a group but being in your own private “space.” The choice then of offering group or individual only, or offering both types of sessions, is down to the individual hypnotist, and the way they prefer to deliver their services to be most effective for them and their clients. Neuroscience banner

The word Neuroscience seems to be everywhere today. It jumps out at you from articles in magazines or online. TV talk shows and documentaries march forth the leaders in the field who dish-up their complicated and emotional appeals of a new field of science about to burst forth and provide a unifying theory about our brain and mind, and what it means to be human and the thoughts and feelings that make us different from other animal species. But what exactly is neuroscience as to most it remains a mystery? So, we have a new field of science but what promise does it hold for the everyday person? How will it help our understanding of ourselves? And how will it impact our future? Particular to me is how it can expand our knowledge of the mysteries of the brain and aid hypnotists to help more people? These questions we’ll explore below with the help of some of the leading experts in Neuroscience today. Fasten your seat-belt because the ride isn’t smooth and has controversy! Read more here…

Is Hypnosis Real or Fake and is it Legitimate Science?

Real or Fake and related words with magnifying glass

If you’re considering hypnosis to help heal, overcome a challenge, or achieve an outcome, then you may be thinking “is hypnosis is real or fake” and if there’s any ‘legitimate science’ in support of it? After all, why spend time investing in a therapy if it’s a waste of your effort and no chance of helping you achieve your outcome? There’s a lot of myths and confusion surrounding hypnosis and our understanding of it. History hasn’t always been kind to hypnosis, and for the longest time the medical community viewed hypnotism with skepticism. Also, at times practitioners of hypnosis made outrageous claims, and marketed it more as a commodity service with a guarantee, and emphasizing price, than a legitimate therapy that may or may not be able to help an individual. So, in this article I’ll provide my answers, based on professional experience and my own study of scientific research Read more here…
