The GLP-1 medication handles hunger.
Hypnotherapy handles everything else.
GLP-1 drugs reduce appetite and slow digestion.
What they don't touch: food noise, emotional eating, anxiety about the future,
and the mental patterns you've built around food over decades.
The gap GLP-1 Leaves...
What Ozempic and Wegovy can't do
Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and other GLP-1 medications work. The appetite suppression is real. But many clients find that after the initial relief, other things surface. Such as anxiety about what happens if they stop, eating past fullness out of habit rather than hunger, or realizing that food played a much bigger emotional role than they understood.
The medication quieted the physical noise. Now the psychological noise is audible.
Hypnotherapy is designed for exactly that layer. We work together on the subconscious patterns, the emotional associations with food, the automatic behaviors, the fears. So, that the changes you're making with medication become yours, not the drug's.
What we work on together...
Common issues for GLP-1 clients
Food noise that medication doesn't fully quiet
Some clients find GLP-1s reduce but don't eliminate the mental chatter about food. We address the source.
Nausea and side effect stress
The psychological stress of managing side effects can amplify them. Relaxation-based hypnotherapy can help the body adjust more smoothly.
Eating out of habit, not hunger
When physical hunger signals are suppressed, emotional triggers become more obvious. We work on those directly.
Body image and self-worth
Weight loss changes how others treat you. That can be disorienting. We work on your relationship with your body as it changes.
Fear of stopping the medication
Anxiety about regaining weight once off GLP-1s is extremely common. Hypnotherapy helps build the internal foundation so that fear becomes manageable.
Building habits that outlast the medication
The goal is that new patterns feel like yours, and not something you borrowed from a drug.

Hi, I'm Erika Slater
Certified Hypnotist · In practice since 2004 · Cape Cod, MA
I've worked with clients on weight loss, habit change, anxiety, and addictions for over 20 years. I bring warmth, directness, and a deeply practical approach — no theatrics.
My work with GLP-1 clients focuses on what the medication can't do: quiet food noise at the source, rebuild your relationship with your body, and make new patterns feel natural rather than forced.
