How to Empower Yourself with a Picture of the Result You Want

The same can be said for the thoughts that go through your mind on a regular basis. In order to accomplish the things you want in your life you need to empower yourself with a strong mental picture of yourself. You need to see yourself as being self-confident as well as competent and able to meet the many challenges that come your way.  The picture in your head can play a very significant role in how you see yourself and how this affects your actions and behaviors.

How then do you get your mind working to make your life what you want it to be? How do you cultivate the strong positive self-empowering thoughts you need to go after what you want? Read on to find out …

To begin with you have to condition your mind to think positive and uplifting thoughts as opposed to negative and downcast ones. You have to focus your thoughts on the result you want to achieve and push aside everything else. For example, don’t picture yourself quitting cigarettes but as a non-smoker – picture what that will mean for you as regards your life and what you can do. Don’t picture losing weight but as being the right size – what what your life be like if you were the right size?

I’m not talking about weak affirmations here, where you chant repeatedly in front of a mirror “I am a thin person… I am a thin person.” Your subconscious knows this not to be true if you’re overweight. We’re talking about something much deeper and richer here.

Now if you’re not a visual person this may be difficult at first but you can learn this technique by practice.

The significance of your beliefs matters a great deal. The same can be said for the mindsets that shape your behavior. We all tend to act and behave in accordance with the beliefs we have.

Henry Ford is often quoted as saying, “Whether you think you can or can’t, you are right.” If you believe something is out of your reach and is completely unattainable then you’re not likely to commit much of your energy or your resources to making the goal a reality.

In order to get rid of old habits you must do three things…

  1. First you must get really specific with yourself about what results you wish to see in your life.
  2. Secondly, you must create and develop actions that’ll make it possible for you to accomplish what you want and achieve the results you desire.
  3. Thirdly and lastly, you must examine your beliefs as they relate to these actions in order to figure out what (if anything) is holding you back from getting what you want. Belief changing work can be involved and some people need help in identifying what beliefs may be holding them back. Achieving what you want in life is possible as long as you first start with mindset.

Your actions follow your thoughts and for this reason it’s essential you create a mindset composed of beliefs that’ll support and encourage what you wish your future to look like. Believe you can and start visualizing your life in the manner most fitting to you.  In this way you will be on your way to making your dreams come true!
