We’ve become a nation of people in search of the “magic pill” to solve all our problems. The pharmaceutical companies and the medical profession have conditioned us to expect there is a pill we can take to make us better for almost any ailment we may experience. And so we come to expect the same in solving our non-medical problems. Smokers want to quit by using a patch or having a hypnotherapist metaphorically “taking out their brain and scrubbing it clean.” People who want to lose weight look for the magic “diet plan” that’ll melt the fat away. And yes there are pills that purport to help smoker’s quit and people to lose weight.

The concept of “you are what you think most about” may or may not resonate with you. This concept has nothing to do with “the law of attraction” stuff, but more about your attitude and state of mind. How we feel about ourselves and our day is dictated by our thoughts. If things are going well and everything is alright with the world then we feel energized because our thoughts will be generally positive. If we’ve suffered some setbacks or had a bad day then we feel lackluster and even depressed as our thoughts tend to dwell on the negative.

“The Power of Positive Thinking” and “The Secret” is two books that came to mind when thinking about the words intent and power of attraction as a way to get the outcomes you want. Whether you’ve read either or practiced their message doesn’t matter at the moment. You may even be skeptical and feel its all mumbo jumbo and the world and your fate is the way it is and you can’t influence it. I admit it’s a big jump from where most of us in working towards our goals feel manifesting them can happen just by thinking about them and asking the universe to take care of it for us.
